Pastor's para: Dave writes

Steve has asked me to write a brief review of the Spring Clean day last Saturday.
The day dawned well, with the weather being fine. An enthusiastic group had arrived by 8.30am, ready to get their marching (working) orders.
Jason divided us into groups, some working in the community, some in the church grounds, and around the buildings. Gardens were weeded, lawns mowed, windows and chairs cleaned, damaged paint repaired, ovens cleaned and carpet layed.
Trailer loads of rubbish were removed from homes in the community and a massive sort out was done in the church offices.
A community barbeque lunch was organised with a dozen folk joining us from the local neighbourhood.
Then after working well into the afternoon and seeing three skips loads of rubbish for our efforts, we headed home for a well earned rest.
It was a great day, and a big thank you needs to go to the 60 or so of you who helped.
